Vikas Dubey’s brother-in-law detained in MP, handed over to UP STF
The Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey’s brother-in-law Rajiv Nigam from Shahdol and handed him over to the UP STF team.

The Madhya Pradesh police on Wednesday handed over Rajiv Nigam, the brother-in-law of notorious gangster Vikas Dubey to the Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) in Shahdol.
Dubey is wanted by the UP Police in connection with the murder of eight police personnel in an incident at Bikru village in Chaubeypur police station of Kanpur district on Friday night.
ADG Shahdol Zone G Janardhan told India Today that Vikas Dubey’s brother-in-law Rajiv Nigam is a resident of Budhar town in Shahdol district of MP. He is a co-accused in a murder case dating to 2001 along with Vikas Dubey.
Rajiv Nigam told the MP police that he came to Budhar to his in-laws’ place after the murder and has been living there ever since. He is a dealer in hay (bhusa).
The UP STF had on Monday taken Rajiv Nigam’s son with them.
The UP police have been looking for Vikas Dubey since Friday and have tapped all possible leads at houses of relatives where he could have hidden to evade arrest.
Police in Madhya Pradesh is also keeping tabs on certain gangsters in the Gwalior district who had been in jail along with Vikas Dubey. Besides this, interstate boundary with Uttar Pradesh has been sealed and no vehicles are being allowed to pass without verification of occupants.
The UP Police had increased the reward on Dubey’s arrest to Rs 2.50 lakh and on Wednesday, it hiked it to Rs 5 lakh.
