MUMBAI: Four people are feared drowned off the Juhu beach in Mumbai after a group of six individuals ventured into the rough seas on Monday evening, a civic official said.
Two of them were saved by locals, but the other four remain missing, and a search operation is being conducted for them, the official said.
The incident took place at Juhu Koliwada in the western suburbs at around 5.30pm, he said.
Currently, a search operation is under way, coordinated by the fire brigade, police, BMC ward staff, and ambulances.
The authorities had previously issued warnings to both the general public and fishermen, advising them against entering the sea due to the hazardous conditions caused by Cyclone ‘Biparjoy,’ set to make landfall off the Gujarat coast on June 15.
