Fishermen in Tamil Nadu find crystal meth worth Rs 100 crore

Fishermen from Tamil Nadu thought they had found a barrel of “refined tea” in their net, however, it turned out to be crystal meth worth Rs 100 crore.
The Mamallapuram fishermen broke open the barrel which had several green sachets of refined tea with Mandarin and English markings. On opening the packets, they found white powder inside them, They then alerted the police.
Police seized 78 kilograms of the substance and gave it for examination, and found out that the substance inside the packets is crystal methamphetamine. P
olice suspect that the barrel was a part of a consignment that landed along the coast by drug smugglers operating in southeast Asian countries.
An investigation is underway.
