Army Chief General MM Naravane visits Ladakh, reviews ground situation

Army Chief General MM Naravane arrived at the Fire and Fury Corps for a two-day visit to Ladakh to discuss with ground commanders the sixweek standoff with the Chinese military and review India’s overall military preparedness in the mountainous region.

Army Chief General MM Naravane arrived at the Fire and Fury Corps for a two-day visit to Ladakh to discuss with ground commanders the sixweek standoff with the Chinese military and review India’s overall military preparedness in the mountainous region.

The Army chief, accompanied by Lieutenant General YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command; and Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, General Officer Commanding Fire and Fury Corps; visited the Army Hospital at Leh where 18 soldiers injured in the clash in Galwan Valley on June 15 are undergoing treatment and interacted with them.

General MM Naravane complimented all ranks for their high standard of professionalism and dedication to duty. He urged them to continue to discharge their duties with the same dedication and zeal. The Chief of the Army Staff is scheduled to visit a number of forward areas during his twoday visit to the region.

Later in the evening, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal met Naravane at the Hall of Fame at Leh.

Before leaving, the army chief complimented all ranks for their professionalism.
