With 203 new coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours, the tally in Assam has risen to 6,056.

With 203 new coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours, the tally in Assam has risen to 6,056.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state tally of coronavirus cases in the state has touched 6,056 after 203 new cases were detected in the state.

He tweeted, “203 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Total cases 6056, Recovered 3762, Active cases 2282, Deaths 09.”

According to the Assam government, some of the security personnel, doctors also tested positive for the deadly virus in the last 48 hours.

The state has reported 1,050 positive cases for the new virus in the last four days.

The state had registered 249 Covid-19 positive cases on June 20 while 331 cases on June 21, 267 cases on June 22 and 203 cases on June 23.

In view of the rise of Covid-19 positive cases, the Assam government has imposed total lockdown in the areas of 11 wards in Guwahati from 9 pm on June 23.
