NEW DELHI. The government on Tuesday told Parliament that there were no deaths due to lack of oxygen specifically reported by states and UTs during the second wave of Covid-19.

The response drew strong reactions, particularly on social media, given the crisis of medical oxygen during the second wave. But health minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted that the data was based on reports from the states and UTs.

However, Netizens expressed anger and shock over the “lack of empathy” shown by the government.
