A few days ago, Deepika Padukone was announced as a jury member at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. With this, the actress will represent India in the 75th edition of the prestigious French film festival’s 9-member jury. Amul paid tribute to the actress with a topical to commemorate the huge moment of pride for India. The diary brand featured a caricature of Deepika in a gown with the banner reading, “Deepicannes!”, and went on to add, “Every jury loves it”. Along with the caricature of Deepika, the iconic Amul girl in a green gown can also be seen.

Here’s the Amul topical:

Deepika Padukone, too, shared the same on her Instagram Stories with a winking smiley emoticon.

Deepika Padukone’s story

This isn’t the first time Amul has shared a topical on Deepika Padukone and her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2019, when the actress slayed it at the red carpet, Amul had an epic take on that. Its topical had caricatures of Deepika and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, who had also made an appearance at the film festival that year while walking the red carpet in couture ensembles. While Deepika donned an over-the-top neon gown for one of her appearances, Aishwarya wore a metallic gold gown. Amul’s topical recreated both the actresses in their respective looks, with the banner reading, “Gori tera gown bada nyaara”.

These apart, Amul topicals, which feature the brand’s mascot, the little girl, have highlighted the most important and trending events worldwide over the years.

A few weeks ago, the diary brand, paid tribute to Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding in its inimitable style. The Amul topical showed Ranbir feeding Alia a slice of buttered toast, while the Amul girl stands by their side. Holding a plate full of toasts. The cheeky banner read, “Patt Mangni, Bhatt Byaah!”, a play on the Hindi phrase “chat mangni pat byaah”.

Before that, Amul had shared an interesting topical on Wordle, the popular word-guessing game that has swept the Internet. The Amul girl was shown playing the game on her phone, with the phrase “Makes Bread Great” written inside the Wordle grid. On the creative, “The Wordle for Butter!” was also written.
