How to enable WhatsApp lock on your Android or iOS smartphone
WhatsApp offers several privacy features for users such as 2-step verification, message encryption, disappearing messages and others. One such feature that is preferred by most users is the Whatsapp lock. As the name suggests, the feature restricts anyone from using WhatsApp app on your smartphones before authenticating with facial recognition or fingerprint sensor.
The feature is available for both Android and iOS platforms. Once enabled, you will need to use your fingerprint or face to open WhatsApp. It is worth noting that you can still answer calls if WhatsApp is locked. To know how to lock WhatsApp on your Android or iOS smartphone, you can follow these steps:
Open WhatsApp app on your Apple iPhone.
Tap on the Settings option at the bottom right corner of the screen.
From the options, tap on Privacy.
Scroll down and tap on Screen Lock.
Turn on the toggle. Once you enable it, you will have to use the Face ID or PIN that you use to unlock your device to access WhatsApp.
Open WhatsApp app on your Android smartphone.
Tap on the ‘three-dot’ more icon at the top right corner of the screen.
From the menu, tap on Settings.
Under the Settings, tap on Account.
Scroll down and tap on Fingerprint lock.
Enable the toggle next to Unlock with fingerprint.
