Ola Electricrecently launched its S1 Air in the Indian market at a base introductory price of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable scooter in their portfolio. It has now come to our attention that Ola is all set to introduce another brand new electric scooter that will be even cheaper than the S1 Air! The company is working on a new scooter called S1X, which will serve as the entry-level model and will be launched on this Independence Day i.e.August 15, 2023.

The Ola S1 Air is already more affordable than all its direct rivals at its introductory pricing, however, the S1X will help attract even more buyers. Ola has confirmed that the S1X will be launched at a staggering starting price of under Rs 1 lakh! As of now, Ola Electric is the country’s top-selling electric two-wheeler manufacturer, posting a sale of 17,579 units in the month of June 2023.

While the company has not yet shared any product details, the presentation highlighted the new S1X to be an ‘ICE killer’. Pricing for 125 cc petrol scooters in India goes up to somewhere around Rs 1 lakh – and that is where the Ola S1X will be positioned. It will be interesting to see if the S1X can actually put the money where the mouth is. As per the image revealed by the company during the presentation, the S1X seems to feature a more bare-bones design over its siblings with some evident cost-cutting.

Range will play an important role for the Ola S1X, and we expect it to be around the 100 km mark considering that the S1 Air has a certified range of 125 km. The S1 Pro, on the other hand, offers a certified range of 181 km on one full charge, with prices starting from Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom).
With a budget of Rs 1 lakh, would you prefer purchasing the upcoming Ola S1X over 125 cc petrol scooters? Let us know in the comments down below.
